Elly grew up in New York City, went to Tulane, spent a year in Korea teaching English, worked in finance in Austin, and is now a filmmaker in Los Angeles. Her first short film PEST GUYS was a SXSW selection in 2020. Her second short TOE premiered at the Edinburgh International Film Festival (2025) alongside Macon Blair’s The Toxic Avenger.

Before graduating from the American Film Institute with an MFA in Screenwriting, Elly worked as Colman Domingo’s development executive at Edith Productions. At AFI, she won the Writers’ Room Ready Award for best pilot, earning a mentorship with Diablo Cody. Since then, she’s been developing projects with producer Mason Novick.
